Description

Responsible for operation of bi-coastal Data Centers; the reliable operation of all installed systems; negotiating major licensing agreements and hardware purchases; Disaster Recovery and Business Continuance Planning and testing; processing of financial reporting. Responsible for planning, purchasing, monitoring, maintaining and upgrading selected computer hardware and Operating Systems as well as contracts administration for various middleware and Application software products.

Job Specifications:
Responsible for implementation and maintenance of Disaster Recovery plans, agreements, testing, and execution of plan in the event of a disaster.
Responsible for Operating System support for AIX based computing systems.
Responsible for AIX Systems Administration and support for IBM Websphere and the Securitas Portal environment.
Responsible for implementation, maintenance and upgrade of the Storage Area Network (SAN) and EMC Enterprise Storage Servers and related equipment.
Responsible for Data Centers physical environment and monitoring.
Develops hardware and operating system migration and growth plans to meet the companys evolving requirements.
Responsible for hardware and software maintenance contracts for corporate computer systems.
Administratively responsible for staff: salaries, reviews, hiring, terminations, etc.
Prepares and monitors the departmental budgets for both Data Centers.
Stays abreast of new technology to ensure the Company continues to utilize most appropriate computing architecture, equipment and services.
Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.

Requirements

Degree in Information Technology or related.
15 20 years experience with systems infrastructure, security, DR/BCP, SAN, virtualized IBM/EMC environments.
5 years supervisory experience managing technical personnel, some at remote locations.
Experience in a large company with multiple locations
Prefer experience with PeopleSoft, Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, EMC, AIX, and Brocade.
Ability to analyze complex data and develop innovative recommendations and solutions.
Needs familiarity, experience and comfort with hardware and software licensing negotiations, creation of a business case and presentation to management.
Project management experience implementing significant sized projects in a complex environment.
Proficiency in the use of business tools such as Excel, Word, Project, Visio, Outlook, etc.
Must undergo and meet company standards for background, reference checks, and controlled substance testing.
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).
